What an amazing opportunity! Thank you for visiting the Congregations With Community (CWC) website. I am personally excited because my congregation and community continually impact my life’s work. Why one unified voice? It’s because I envision a surge of active partnerships between congregations and their communities to strengthen our social fabric through collective action and a collective voice.

Because you are a part of our community, we have developed values that will guide our work together. Your unique perspective and contributions are what make our community so special. Forming relationships with you, building unity, listening, and learning will inspire the imagination to address opportunities in the community. While doing so, we will put into action ways to secure sustainability. Why? Your work matters.

What are the grants for?

Our mission is to energize collaboration between congregations and community partners with shared values to address social opportunities as one unified voice.

Social opportunities could include addressing environmental issues, social justice issues, homelessness, immigration, literacy, teen pregnancy, employment, and a host of other issues.

Please note: Grant applications are given by invitation only after a conversation with a CWC representative. Applications are not posted on this website. This is a competitive initiative. Not all congregations who apply will be selected.

Are you a congregation or nonprofit in the state of Indiana?
Grants are awarded to Christian congregations and Jewish, or a Community Development Corporation (CDC) originating from that congregation in the state of Indiana.

Who will you partner with?
Congregations must partner with community entities (non-profits, businesses, etc.) to address an issue in the community. We can help you discover a match if you do not already have one.

What issue will you address?
In collaboration, congregations and their community entities must address ONE issue in the community.

What is the grant amount?
Congregations with Community will provide a matching grant to congregations. Developing a project budget, scope, and goals for impact will be important in this process. A CWC grant committee will determine the amount.

Who will make up your team?
Congregations and community entities must develop a team of at least three to five people to provide direction for the project.
